S.H.I.E.L.D. News Roundup (spoilers)

A few pieces of information are filtering through in the lead up to season 2 of Marvels’ Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. which begins at 9pm on Tuesday September 23.

Casting News

We’ve already heard about some upcoming guest stars including:

  • Adrianne Palicki as Bobbi Morse (Mockingbird)
  • Brian Patrick Wade as Carl “Crusher” Creel
  • Kyle MacLachlan as Skye’s father
  • Henry Simmons as Alphonso “Mac” Mackenzie, mechanic.
  • Lucy Lawless as Isabel Hartley

    Lucy Lawless as Isabel Hartley, a long time S.H.I.E.L.D. veteran.

  • Nick Blood as Lance Hunter, a mercenary Director Coulson enlists.
  • Reed Diamond as Daniel Whitehall, a “Big Bad” Hydra agent and associate of Baron von Strucker.
  • Unknown actress as Bobbi Morse (Mockingbird).
  • Simon Kassianides – Bakshi, “a confident right-hand man who’s not afraid to do the dirty work.”

Today Marvel released the first on set picture of Lucy Lawless as S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Isabel Hartley saying about the new season “it’ll bring a number of new faces with it…including Lucy Lawless as Agent Isabelle Hartley, and we’ve got your first look at her in the season premiere!”

C.A.S.Convention

In other news, C.A.S. Convention, a fan run convention to be held in Los Angeles Nov 8-9 has announced two S.H.I.E.L.D. related guests with promises of more S.H.I.E.L.D. news soon. Max Hernandez (Agent *coughhydracough* Sitwell) will be attending as will Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. graphic designer Geoffrey Mandel.

Max Hernandez can currently be seen in TNT series The Last Ship which has been renewed for a second season. He is also asking fans to consider making a donation to a worthy cause and as a thank you is offering autographed photos.

J August Richards

f you missed J August Richards (Mike Peterson – Deathlok) at Chicago Wizardworld last weekend, you can catch his next convention appearance in Atlanta for DragonCon this weekend.

If you haven’t had an opportunity to meet him yet make sure you do, he’s a great guy.

While filming the new season there’s a certain degree of temptation for cast and crew to post about what is going on behind the scenes but with Marvel being so strict about spoilers it’s mostly just fun like the tweets below.

Ice Bucket Challenge

A number of members of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. cast and crew have participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness of ALS and funds to help research and support for the disorder, in case you missed it, see the videos below. Remember it’s always a good time to support charities that are in need of your help so use this as a prompt to take action now, whether it’s ALS you decide to support or another charity that is close to your heart.
