TV Guide’s Natalie Abrams spoke to Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producers Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen on what to expect from tonight’s episode and the rest of the season.
Whedon makes it clear he is excited about shifting direction now that they have had the opportunity to properly introduce each of the characters saying, “Now that we’ve gotten the first episodes under our belt and we’ve established the characters, we have a little bit more freedom to tell singular stories about the characters and dive into story lines like that, which makes us excited about the back half of the season.”
As we have already seen, none of the characters are very straight forward and Tancharoen says we shouldn’t expect to know everything right away, when speaking of Agent May’s past she says, “That may not just be all laid out in one episode,” she says. “It’s a complicated past so there are many layers to it.”
