General Comments

If you have an issue with anything taking place on this website please feel free to contact the administrator or one of the moderators.  We cannot be held responsible for posts within this forum but we will do the best we can to see that the rules aren’t broken. Please remember that our real world responsibilities keep us busy and we may not be able to follow up on issues as quickly as you’d like .

Our number 1 rule is simply "Show Respect". This includes treating other members of this site, the cast & crew of S.H.I.E.L.D., and anyone else with respect.

Registration & Usernames

All new registrations require confirmation to ensure you are a real person and not a spambot. You may not register a username that contains offensive words, actual character names (names based on a character are fine, eg, CoulsonFan is fine, Agent Coulson is not) or would lead someone to believe you are a member of the S.H.I.E.L.D. cast or crew or any other public figure. You may not register multiple usernames in order to deceive or pose as multiple personalities. If you feel you need to change your username for a legitimate reason contact an administrator or moderator.

General Posting Rules

Please try to speak properly using correct spelling, grammar and punctuation and do not use all-caps. It may seem petty but proper punctuation and grammar makes it easier for people to read and understand what you are writing. Please do not use "text speak".

marveltv.org may have a number of  international members and we understand that there are language barriers for some however this is an English language website so you should speak in English when trying to communicate with others . Use Google Translate if you must.

No Personal Attacks.

This means against any administrator, moderator, member, cast or crew, or any other person. It is possible to have healthy discussion without it getting ‘personal’.

Attacking anyone in a personal way will result in action by an administrator or moderator. Continued behavior of this nature may result in a member being banned. Harassment or bad behavior towards a member via the private message system or other means will also not be tolerated.

No Gossip

Do not link to or discuss “Blind Items”. These are maliciously designed to stir up gossip (and increase traffic to the sites that post them) and we will not allow them here.

Please do not gossip, especially about the cast, crew or any of their friends or family members. We believe strongly that the private lives of the cast and crew are their own business, not ours. Should an administrator or moderator consider a post delves into this area they will remove it. It doesn’t matter if it’s already posted elsewhere online, we will not permit it here.

No Unauthorized Photographs or Video

Please do not post photographs or video of cast, crew or on-location filming that are clearly taken without the knowledge of those involved. We believe it is a breach of privacy (there’s a reason the paparazzi have such a bad reputation) and that it shows disrespect to the creators of S.H.I.E.L.D. for members of the public to post and share images that give away details of episodes that have not yet aired. If you are unsure something falls into this category please ask an administrator or moderator before posting

No Trolling or Spamming

Do not post messages with the aim of making people angry or stirring up trouble.

Do not post the same message repeatedly or send mass private messages to forum members.

Do not link to sites or information from which you will personally gain unless you have cleared it with an administrator or moderator first.

No Smut

There’s a time and a place but it is not here. Please remember that people from ABC and from TV shows have been known to lurk on fan websites. Do not post anything you wouldn’t want them to see. Absolutely no posting images of a sexual nature, real or manipulated.

Spoilers

Certain areas of the forum are a free for all as far as spoilers go (primarily the Episode Discussion section) and it is not necessary to use spoiler tags or warnings in in these areas however if you are posting anything of a spoilery nature outside of these specific areas you MUST use the spoiler tags. If you’re not sure how, ask someone.

No Posting Images, Videos or Links to Pirated Material

This includes links to sites that offer illegal download of episodes. If it’s not on Hulu/ABC Viewer/Amazon/iTunes or an official international network site then there is a good chance it is not legal. If in doubt please ask an administrator or moderator first. We know that this is particularly frustrating for international viewers but the simple fact is it is illegal so we cannot allow it here.  The same applies to tools used to circumvent international blocks used by various websites.

No Use of Foul Language or Inappropriate Behavior

Please remember that we have people of all ages and backgrounds visiting our site. Be respectful and refrain from obscenity, foul language, promotion of illegal activities or drug use.

Notes on Moderation

While we believe in freedom of expression and welcome varied opinions, marveltv.org is a private website, not a democracy. We invite all members to become fully involved and we take your opinions and concerns into consideration when moderation decisions are made but at the end of the day you must abide by our rules. We endeavor to treat all members fairly but if you break the rules our moderators are permitted to take the action they deem necessary for the benefit of the website community.

If you continue to break the rules you will be placed on moderation and if you continue to cause further trouble we reserve the right to ban you completely. Efforts to circumvent the ban (eg registering with a different name) will result in further action being taken which may include a site-wide ban or in extreme cases legal action.

While our moderators will usually try to inform post authors of the reasons behind any action taken they do not always have time and it is not a requirement for them to explain each of their actions. If you believe you have been treated unfairly please use the contact form on this site to email the website administrator.
