edit] Character Summary
Commander Maria Hill processed the transfer of Agent Grant Ward out of S.H.I.E.L.D. Paris at the request of Agent Phil Coulson, for him to be included in his new mobile command unit. She debriefed Ward in her office and introduced him to Coulson, then brought them both to the operation room. She also did the analysis of Ward’s last three missions, giving him high marks for combat and espionage, but practically no marks for people skills (she drew a porcupine, which was hilariously mistaken as a poop with knives sticking out of it). She also oversaw the team’s first mission on the containment of Unregistered Gifted Mike Peterson, who turned out to be a participant of Project Centipede
edit] Relationships
- Phil Coulson
She appears to have a long working history with Phil Coulson, despite being almost twenty years his junior, and was deeply upset when Director Nick Fury lied about Coulson dying during The Avengers. Once Coulson was back in the active roster, she displayed a fond exasperation for the older agent’s shenanigans and quirks at the assembly of his new team, but her loyalties were ultimately to Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D., and thus she hid her knowledge of his death and recovery from him.
edit] Training and Abilities
As de facto Deputy Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Maria Hill has proven her mettle by showing to be a crack shot, a quick tactician, and a capable leader during The Avengers, taking charge of the Helicarrier with ease and experience even when Nick Fury wasn’t on deck.
