An unexpected bit of news today as iamrogue.com reports we may yet see an appearance by Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill if S.H.I.E.L.D. is picked up to series by ABC later in the year.
How I Met Your Mother in which Smulders stars as Robin Scherbatsky was renewed by CBS late last year dashing the hopes of many fans that she would be cast in the S.H.I.E.L.D. series however Smulders says her role in that show won’t affect her ability to appear in S.H.I.E.L.D. should it be picked up.
When asked about the possibility of appearing in S.H.I.E.L.D. Smulders said “The commitments to [How I Met Your Mother] don’t affect it, and I can’t really say but there are definite talks about it.” She went on to share her feelings about the character saying “Oh yeah! I’m very excited. I will do Maria Hill until they fire me and hire someone else to do it.”
Cobie Smulders appeared in The Avengers and will appear in Captain America: The Winter Soldier film which is currently in pre-production. She is also rumored to appear in the sequel to The Avengers
