Acclaimed actor Edward James Olmos has joined the cast of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as a major recurring character during the last half of season two. The only details we have on his character is a name and the magnitude of an impact he’s going to make on our favorite agents.
“Olmos will play Robert Gonzales, whose debut this spring in “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will have massive repercussions for Director Coulson and his team.
Edward James Olmos brings an amazing gravitas to any role he inhabits, something we knew we needed for Robert Gonzales,” said Executive Producer and Marvel’s Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb. “When Olmos first appears on our series, everyone will have to take notice–including our favorite Agents.”
Olmos is best known in the science fiction world for his portrayal of Admiral Adama from the Sci-Fi Channel’s rebooted Battlestar Galactica series and Blade Runner. His 80’s TV work includes Miami Vice and The Burning Season. In the past few years, he’s guest starred on Portlandia, also featuring Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Kyle MacLachlan.
