Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. & Inhumans of the MCU: A Theory

This week Marvel announced some changes to their upcoming film lineup. There are some amazing movies coming up including sequels for Captain America, Thor, Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and a freshly announced Ant Man sequel Ant Man & the Wasp in addition to new character movies including Doctor Strange and Black Panther and the first Spider-Man movie to be added to the MCU…. and then there’s the Inhumans movie.
While updating our popular MCU Viewing Order page to reflect the new dates and include the three new mystery movies for 2020 we had a random thought about Inhumans
As anyone watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will know, Inhumans have been thoroughly introduced to audiences throughout the series. There has been much speculation among fans about how much the movie and TV series might tie in together since the movie was first announced last year.
The Inhumans movie was originally planned for release in November 2018 but is now planned for release in July 2019. By then (hopefully) Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will have just completed its 7th season. 7 Years is a good life for a TV show, but wouldn’t it be exciting to have that TV show end with a big budget movie? So our wild (and purely fun) theory, is Inhumans is in fact, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: The Movie. Of course, there’s the issue of how and when they’d be able to film it if they’re still working on a TV series among many other things but it’s a fun thought all the same.
Marvel is also working on pilots for two new TV series, Marvel’s Most Wanted featuring S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Bobbi and Hunter and a comedy called Marvel’s Damage Control about a team who are left dealing with cleaning up the messes caused by superheroes, in addition to the current series Marvel’s Agent Carter so it seems Marvel are big plans for the future of television too.
