In the top 25 marketsMarvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. won the hour in the 18-49 demographic with a 1.8 against NCIS: New Orlean‘s 1.7 however when it came to all the markets it was a different story with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. coming in behind NCIS: NO (1.5 against 2.4). What accounts for the signficiant difference I can’t explain.

The World Series, lead-ins that continue to drop and a spinoff that’s maintaining almost the entire audience of it’s original powerhouse all combined to see Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s overnight ratings drop again this week though we expect as usual there will be a signficiant increase in the Live +7 DVR numbers. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was not alone however with almost everything dropping from last week.

The DVR +7 numbers for episode 2 of season 2 are out and as expected Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. saw a large increase (76%) to reach a 3.0 in the 18.49 demographic and total viewers increased to 7.92 million.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. frequently increases by 0.1 in the demographic once final figures are posted later in the day and we’ll update the information once that data is available.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. continues to deliver strong results in the +3 and +7 DVR numbers and usually increases from 50-80% of live viewership. Live + DVR numbers are only counted for Nielsen households and do not include online viewing via sources such as ABC Watch, Hulu, iTunes orAmazon and while ABC does track these numbers separately the data is not made public.
