This week Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.remained steady in the overnight ratings reaching a 1.6 in the 18-49 demographic and increasing in viewers from last week to 4.62. This is despite both comedy lead ins Selfie and Manhattan Love Story dropping further again this week. Newcomer NCIS: New Orleans remained dominant at 9pm as expected, though lower than last week’s 2.3, taking out first place with a 2.2 in the 18-49 demographic however by the time the DVR numbers for the remainder of the week are added we should find that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. once again takes out first place for the hour.
Update: As expected Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. adjusted up to a 1.7 in the 18-49 demographic and rose slightly in total viewers to 4.7 million.
S.H.I.E.L.D. won the hour in the all important male demographics of both 18-34 and 18-49. The male, particularly the young male, demographics are particularly significant for ABC because most ABC shows skew heavily female. The young male audience is also the least likely to watch TV live which makes them more valuable to advertisers
