Craveonline.com has posted a more detailed report from the Television Critics Association event held today and shared details discussed by ABC president Paul Lee.While we already knew Joss Whedon was set to co-writing and direct the pilot we now learn that he has already started to work on future scripts as well. They will shoot in Los Angeles to allow Whedon to work on both S.H.I.E.L.D. and the second Avengers film.ABC is looking at the bigger picture when it comes to budget and hopes to see the series last “many many years”. Lee admits they’re still a long way from that point but states that today’s technology will allow them to be ambitious.Lee says “S.H.I.E.L.D.” will be the first pilot he looks at for the fall and they have moved it forward in front of other shows they are working on and are very hopeful it will go to series.“The truth about Joss is he has some great relationships in it so there are a lot of really funny male/female relationships that go through it,” Lee said. “But it’s also Joss too and there’s a lot of action. Look, what we do do, I talk about the emotion of the network, that it’s smart with heart. There is something which I talk less about, that’s very real about this network, is we have more co-viewed shows. Absolutely Marvel has the ability to bring the whole family around it.”

“You know how Joss is so high/low? How he’s able to be intense and epic and suddenly funny/silly? He’s got that ability to be super-entertaining.” Lee said that if ordered to series (“Joss is very engaged and already working on scripts”), S.H.I.E.L.D. could air almost anywhere, in any time slot. “Marvel has the ability to bring the whole family.”
