In the past weeks (and episodes) this Clairvoyant person (or thing) is getting more involved in SHIELD. In this forum, I dedicate thoughts, theories, or ideas on "Who the Clairvoyant is" and/or "How the Clairvoyant came about".

I have seen some evidence that this Clairvoyant is a known name to a SHIELD agent/agents (not just because their on the radar; I’m thinking as an friend)

I also have thought that Fury tried everything to bring back Coulson, so perhaps did Fury create this "Clairvoyant" on accident?… I’m sure there is more of an origin story for Coulson later on as all we know is they changed his memories and "Messed with his brains", so perhaps they tried cloning him or making him a robot or even AI (AI will be introduced more in Avengers 2 I think…)

I am excited to hear your theories/ideas about the Clairvoyant because this topic has so many endless possibilities that it is awesome to think about…

Also there is a poll below for you to do if you’d like! Enjoy! Cool

If there is a traitor in SHIELD, who do you think it is?

Damn, that´s a good question.

I am a staunch supporter of the theory that the Calrivoyant is a member of the SHIELD superstructure, but so far I don´t really know who it could be.

Most of them we know, ecxept Hand, but I can´t really imagine Hand being it.

But IF it was someone within SHIELD, we would have met him by now.

I was thinking the doctor, but he would know how Coulson was ressurected, so… not the doctor.

UNLESS of course… he was brought in during the seventh operation and gave Coulson new memories.. so, it might just as well be him.

I’m trying to add a couple of extra options to that poll to include "Other: S.H.I.E.L.D. member" and "Other: Non S.H.I.E.L.D. member" but the software has a bug so I can’t.

My theory of the Clairvoyant?

1. He’s a man with a ‘special gift’ in telepath (like some of the X-Men, but we know we can’t use them here)…. an Asgardian or an Inhuman fits the bill here as well, or

2. M.O.D.O.K., a sentient of intelligence and master of probability (explains how he can predict Coulson and co’s moves) and he also attacked via technology (the scene with Po in "The Magical Place"), or

3. The Mandarin, as hinted in the one-shot "All hail the King"

My biggest bet would be the 2nd one ;)

I wonder if "The Clarivoyant" actually knows as much as he leads people to believe. Sometimes it seems like some good guess work or bluffing would cover some of the things he "knows". Like Coulson’s feelings for the Cellist. And Quinn’s "The Clairvoyant said to say hello" doesn’t mean that he actually knew Coulson was about to call.

I thought the Clairvoyant was the Vision, but given the fact that Paul Bettany has been announced to play him and Paul Bettany plays Jarvis, that theorys been dashed to bits. So I think the Clairvoyant is going to be Kang, because Kang is one of The Avengers’ great nemeses and this would be a really cool way to introduce him, plus, due to his time travel ability, he could be anywhere at once.

My vote goes to Fitz for reasons that i already gave. His actions about Simmons prove to us that he can be ruthless if needed. And i think he is the smarter one on the Bus and among the smartest on the whole SHIELD. He was the one who fix the weather machine and the one who didn’t prevent Skye to enter the mansion alone. also it would be a shock for the viewer as no one suspect on him.

The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist

It seems I can’t edit or add more to the poll, so I am considering other options for this…

I don’t have a reference for this, but I do remember seeing rumors around the beginning of the series about FitzSimmons turning evil during the second season. As much as I hope it isn’t true, perhaps the Clairvoyant was on the Bus all along…

Well, this is probably really far-fetched, but someone posted a screencap from TRACKS on tumblr and it caught my eye.  It’s the one of Coulson gazing up into the sky on the train with Simmons.  It seemed out of place to me because he does not appear to be looking at the scenery, and seems more in a little trance.  Then the camera cuts to something else and it just seemed weird.  It got me wondering if this is somehow connected to the Clairvoyant.  Did they put something in his head that can be accessed remotely?  Is Coulson subconsciously gazing to the heavens because he knows he is somehow now connected to some alien world now?  Okay, he did this in the 0-8-4 ep as well, but I thought he was just looking at the rocket go up then.  Now, I’m wondering if these are hints that he is something more than of this world alone, and maybe that’s why they brought him back to life.  It still gets me nowhere when it comes to who the Claivoyant is though.

We don’t know if the Clairvoyant is male or female.

And who is the Cellist? Some woman that Coulson met while in Portland OR? We know that she cried when she heard Coulson was dead. Maybe there’s more to her story…?

The clairvoyant is referred to as "he" frequently by Raina in particular

Perhaps the Clairvoyant appears to be "he" or "she" depending on the person in the interaction? Raina obviously has a way with men and her wanting to "please". It would make sense that the Clairvoyant is a male figure for her.

So does the Clairvoyant know that Skye is an 084?

Historically most of the alleged clairvoyants were women. From the Delphi Oracle to the gipsy fortune tellers. However, since Raina referred to him as a "he" we don’t need to doubt about it. Otherwise Po would have corrected Raina about it.

Anyway i think that the better way to misguide everyone is to pose as another gender. If they are looking for a guy, the girls are free of suspect.

Well, no, we don’t know that, we know that Raina knew that telling Coulson she cried would push his buttons, that’s an entirely different thing.

I also believe the Clairvoyant is someone in SHIELD, I think that’s how Raina knew about the cellist, because I think it will be revealed the cellist wasn’t who Coulson thought she was.

I have no idea, but she’s been brought up too many times for it to just be Avengers fanservice, so she obviously plays a part in the plot. At first I thought she might end up getting killed, but frankly, having her be told that he’s dead is, from Phil’s POV, kind of worse, so I don’t see the dramatic point in that. Which makes me lean towards it being somewhat inevitable that she is a part of whatever it is SHIELD is lying to Coulson about. As much as it breaks my Phil-loving heart to see his entire belief system and everything he holds to be true getting stomped on, I’ve more or less resigned myself to the idea that that is pretty much what is going to happen in the rest of the season, and that includes the cellist, I fear.

Couldn’t the cellist just come into play in the same way that Mike’s son is? Leverage? Why does she have to be part of some huge evil conspiracy?
