Will Samuel L. Jackson Appear in S.H.I.E.L.D.?

Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury

Samuel L. Jackson says that while he hasn't talked to Joss Whedon about appearing in the new S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series due to start filming in January, he would most certainly like to see the character included on the show.

His suggestion? "... if nothing else, be like Charlie in Charlie's Angels. At least be the voice!"

The "if nothing else" would lead us to believe Jackson is open to a more significant role, what are your thoughts? Is there a place for Nick Fury in the S.H.I.E.L.D. series? Would you like to see him as a series regular? Recurring guest? Special appearance in the pilot only? Or perhaps you don't think he should appear at all? Share your thoughts below.

The show is supposed to be centered on Phil Coulson, and, other SHEILD agents, NOT Nick Fury.So having Nick Fury in some featured role each week would deflect from that. But he DOES need to be involved,as does Maria Hill, since they are the number one and two at the agency. Voiceovers, and, occasional appearances would work.

As it is a tv show about SHIELD, it would be kinda silly not to have the director and his second in command turn up in it from time to time. And as Black Widow and Hawkeye are technically agents of SHIELD as well, I hope they will get the opportunity for a cameo or two. This show also gives an opportunity to introduce other SHIELD agents/superheroes into the MCU, most notably Mockingbird

You “hit the nail on the head” exctly. I’m sure the Whedons have plans for the actors who portrayed Nick Fury, Maria Hill, the Black Widow, and, Hawkeye. But since the focus will be on Phil Coulson (how did he survive Loki’s attack?,)and, “regular, normal” agents, Fury and Hill will be limited to mainly cameos, and, voice overs. (Besides, using them for anything else would drive productions costs higher than would be practical for a TV series.) The Widow, aand, Hawkeye, could be mentioned in passing with one, or, two, cameos, for the same two reasons as above.

    October :
The focus of the show will be on the “regular” non -costumes agents.. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if Clint (Hawkeye) Barton and Natasha Romanoff -the Black Widow, didn’t make at least one cameo appearance either together, or, seperately, especially around the time of. the Avengers sequel premiere -if the show lasts that long. (We all hope that it does.)
