Marvel has announced that award-winning writer/director Drew Goddard (Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Lost, Cloverfield, Cabin in the Woods, World War Z) will head up the 2015 Daredevil series on Netflix as Showrunner and Executive Producer.  Goddard will also write and direct the first episode.

After the Dare Devil movie, a second on did not come out or any sort of cross over.
However there will be a Daredevil tv series on Netflix.
I can't wait to see what it's all about.
I'm sure it will be pretty good, a series better than one movie for me.

It would be great if they focus on the Matt Murdock persona as much as his Daredevil adventures. A perfect mix between a lawyers show and a vigilante one could do much good to the character.

"Time to grow up, kid -- time to stop playin' pretty girl and face some hard facts. There are questions you will not get answers to. There are things going on that you do not get to know about. And rest assured, I will never slip up in case you feel like bein' coy." -Colonel Nicholas J. Fury.

It would be a pretty good show if you ask me.
I would want the show to probably lead up to another Dare Devil movie in the future if possible.

I'm more stoked about this than anything else I've seen in pre-production. The gritty underworld of Hell's Kitchen and it all leads up to a Defenders mini-series. It also means we will probably see a lot more Netflix shows in the future.

out of all the miniseries on Netflix coming(daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Defenders) this is the one I am most excited for. I am really hoping the stick with the red costume. I hate the yellow. I also hope they go into the lawyer side of his persona. I think it will be something to set it apart from the rest.

Agreed about this being my most anticipated Marvel project in development. I've been saying for years that Daredevil would work better on TV along with many other people, and its nice to see Marvel listening. I hope they make Hell's Kitchen an absolute hellhole and aren't afraid to explore more adult themes. Thats why the fact this is on Netflix is a blessing. They won't have to adhere to network television's restrictions and we're guaranteed to get at least 1 season. And I can't see this doing poorly, so Marvel will keep churning them out.

Today Marvel announced filming for all the Marvel Netflix shows will take place in New York bringing “New York’s super heroes home where they belong.” The first series, Daredevil, will begin filming this Summer and is expected to create around three thousand jobs in New York State with up to 400 of them being full time. The entire series of shows consisting of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist will include nearly 52 one-hour episodes with up to 8 additional episodes as part of a mini series event called The Defenders.

Speaking about the New York deal Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said, “The Defenders are classic New York characters; smart, resourceful and tough enough to always stand up for what’s right. We’re delighted they’re coming to life on their home turf thanks to Governor Cuomo and his team.”

Haha I know,

I meant that I can't wait for it for another year.

I don't know why it will take that long. Oh well, the wait will be worth it :)

way too early to tell given we don't even know yet where they're going to start with these series.

I'm hoping for some casting news before this summer.  They start filming then, so someone should be announced.  It's great they are filming this year, but since they have to record 13 episodes, we are looking at a 12 month time frame before they are ready, since they will all be release at once.

I can't wait to see them, when they come out.

Again, to me it will be better to see a series on them rather than a movie.

Then wait a year or two for a sequel.

I'm sure someone said during or after the press conference that they haven't decided yet if they will release all the eps together or weekly.

Yeah, it would be cool to see both at the same time.

If they do, the more the better.
