  1. I agree completely, there is every reason for ABC to want to green light SHIELD, and even more reason for their parent company, Disney, to want SHIELD on the air (promoting other Marvel/Disney films and building on the popularity of AVENGERS).  I have complete confidence that Joss has made an awesome pilot episode and that Jed & Maurissa will be great show runners (assuming SHIELD goes forward).

I’m really excited about this show!

The more I hear about this show the more I get excited. I had the happy coincidence of running into someone this week (before anyone speculates it wasn’t J August Richards) and while he was very careful not to say anything remotely spoilery, his enthusiasm about it made me even more excited.

Actually, I ran into two people while I was handing out SHIELDtv.net cards to people at Wondercon (in line for the Much Ado panel but also to random people I saw wearing S.H.I.E.L.D./Avengers shirts) and one guy had this shirt on with a really big S.H.I.E.L.D. logo… stupid me didn’t recognize WHERE that shirt came from till he said “hey, I worked on that show!” It was a crew shirt! I kicked myself afterwards for not stopping to chat to him longer, though he did kind of look to be in a hurry.

As I said in my introductory post, I am a TV junkie. Anything that is NOT a reality show is exciting and seeing this in the works and getting little bits of info here and there is all part of the fun! We have seen Whedon make long-lasting, successful tv shows before, and it’s really what TV is missing recently. Aside from the veteran clones like all the CSIs, NCIS, Law and Orders, there are few shows that last past a few seasons. Most importantly, there is nothing out there quite like it. TV needs this show! Excitement! Exclamation points!!
